To take advantage of our trade-in service, simply answer a few questions about the condition of your phone, and we'll provide you with a quote for a credit to use towards your next phone purchase on an Interest-Free plan. Here's how it works:

  1. Receive a quote for your phone.
  2. Choose your new mobile phone, and we'll deduct the value of your trade-in as the upfront payment.
  3. Sign up or re-sign to an eligible One New Zealand Pay Monthly plan on an Interest-Free basis.
  4. Walk away with your new phone.

Please note that there is a limit of 2 mobile phones per trade-in, valued at $90 or higher. Terms and conditions for Interest-Free and trade-in apply.

Before coming to Phoneshopnz, it's important to follow these steps:

  1. Back up your personal data using the instructions provided below.
  2. Ensure you can log in to your Apple iCloud or Google account. When you visit our store, we will ask you to delete your Apple iCloud or Google ID from your phone before completing the trade-in process. This allows us to repair and reset the phone for its next user. Failure to delete from the cloud renders the phone unusable.
  3. Ensure you have a valid ID, such as a driver's license or passport.

Remember to back up and properly remove your data from your old phone to protect your privacy, safety, and security.

To find the model and storage of your phone, follow these steps:

For iPhone:

  • Go to Settings > General > About
  • Look for Model Name and Capacity (in GB)

For Android:

  • Open Settings > About (or System)
  • Look for Device Name
  • Go back to Settings > Device Care (or Storage)
  • Look for Storage (in GB)

Backup and Restore Your Data: Before visiting Phoneshopnz, it's crucial to back up your personal data, such as photos, videos, documents, and contact numbers. If you hand over your phone without backing up your data, you won't be able to access it again. Refer to the provided links for instructions on how to back up your data based on your phone's operating system.

Please note that if you have a broken screen, options for backing up data may vary depending on your phone model. If your phone is already backed up, you can restore your data on the new phone through Google Cloud (if enabled) or iCloud (if enabled for Apple phones).

To ensure a smooth trade-in process, it's important to remove your phone from your Apple iCloud or Google account. We've provided links below to guide you through the removal process for both Apple and Android phones.

If your phone doesn't turn on or won't stay on, we regret to inform you that we cannot accept such phones. As we cannot wipe personal data from them, this presents a privacy concern for our customers.

Please make your decision carefully when trading in your phone, as we are unable to return your old phone to you if you change your mind.
